Use your personal printer to make shirts

Imagine you are starting a basketball team with some coworkers at your company. The company is sponsoring it, but you have very little money going directly to your team for something like uniforms. You find that ordering t-shirts from a professional company is not going to be an option—it’s just too expensive. However, you need some type of uniform in order to meet the requirements to start a team of your own.

It’s crazy to think about the immense amount of things your little inkjet printer is capable of.  From cards to labels to photographs, it seems as if inkjet printers have everything you need and more.  Sometimes, though, these awesome functions get overlooked. One thing many inkjet printers these days have the ability to print on that some don’t think of is iron-on transfers.

If you are staring at the screen asking yourself what an iron-on transfer is, don’t worry—you’re not alone. Iron-on transfers are a type of paper that makes it possible to create designs on fabrics like hats, bags, t-shirts and pillowcases.

Before you print these transfers, you have to create them on your computer or wireless printer. After you’ve designed something perfect on Microsoft Word or through your printer’s manufacturer, you should print a test page on plain paper to figure out whether or not you like the design you’ve printed out. If you do, it’s time for the real thing. Put your transfer paper into the input tray and begin printing. Make absolute sure your printer is compatible with iron-on transfers before you do this though.

After the transfers have printed out, make sure they have dried and you are ready to create your masterpiece. Simply put your document face down on the fabric you are designing, and rub your iron back-and-forth on the paper. When you remove the iron you will have the perfect article of clothing for only a fraction of the price you’d pay in a store.
